Installing XP from a USB (U3) Drive! & Removing Linux:

Download the following:
Universal Customizer
(If you are using a SanDisk Cruzer also download this fix.

Required:
U3 USB key
ISO of Windows XP that is bootable
(Download XP Home W/ Drivers) or (Download XP Pro SP3 Lite Version W/ Drivers)
Winzip or Winrar so you can extract the contents downloaded above.

***Please note: Being an OEM copy these images have not been cracked or otherwise hacked for illegal purposes. This is meant simply for owners of the Aspire One with a valid XP serials and licenses.***

Steps.
Back up the contents of your U3 drive.
Extract the Universal Customizer contents to a folder
If using the the sandisk fix download, extract and copy the contents to the same folders in the Universal Customizer folder (overwriting the older files.)
Copy your XP ISO to the BIN folder.
Rename the existing U3CUSTOM.iso file to BACKUPU3CUSTOM.iso.
Rename your XP ISO to U3CUSTOM.iso
Run Universal_Customizer.exe
Follow the prompts as follows. It is normal for it to take quite some time for it to upload the XP ISO to the drive.

Make sure you do not have anything plugged into the USB ports other than the usb drive. USB attached Mice, Web-Cams, Hubs, and such will give you a Blue Screen of Death Error!

Test your usb drive by pressing F12 as soon as you power on your Acer One. You should see 3 bootable devices, 2 are the Sandisk and the other one will be your hard drive. There should now be an emulated CD-ROM that is run from the USB drive. Select the option to boot from the CD-ROM.

Now follow the on screen instructions to install XP!
